ALL BEGINNERS WISHING TO START FENCING
We are currently welcoming those new to fencing to come and enjoy your first 2 fencing sessions FREE of Charge.
We hope in these first 2 sessions we can give you a taste of the sport so you can find out what is involved and see if this sport is for you.
If you like it then lessons will start on your 3rd week.
All abilities are welcome. You are never too old to start, and if you feel "too old"...we would really like to encourage you to try fencing. After all we have members ranging from age 7 to 70+ so there is really no excuse! And its a chance to make new friends and try something different!
As well as being an exciting "one on one" sport, its an excellent way to quickly build fitness, learn new skills and lose weight.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
The aim is to give you an introduction to fencing so that you can join ordinary club activities.
You will learn the rules, fencing etiquette, stance and movement, offensive and defensive actions. After this it gets even more interesting, learning more tactical approaches, refereeing, fencing with electric equipment.
In quite a short time you will be able to go to your first competition.
The monthly fee allows members to fence at both venues if you wish. This provides up to 4 and a half hours of fencing each week, which members agree is excellent value for money.
Beginners courses are ongoing and there is no set end date. So it will be on a month by month basis.
